Rector

Rev. Grant brings a lifetime of faithful service, thoughtful leadership, and deep pastoral presence to his role as Rector of St. George’s, where he has served since 2020. The son of an ordained minister, he understands ministry as a shared journey rooted in justice, healing, and the expansive love of Christ. At St. George’s, Rev. Grant is committed to nurturing a spiritually curious, outward-facing community through worship, formation, pastoral care, and community partnership. In addition to his ministry at St. George’s, he regularly leads retreats, workshops, and small groups focused on prayer, spiritual discernment, racial healing, and navigating seasons of transition, and he serves as a spiritual director. Beyond the parish, Rev. Grant is engaged in diocesan and regional life, currently serving on the Commission on Ministry and having served as a Deputy to General Convention, on Diocesan Council, and in interfaith and collaborative partnerships across congregations. He is especially passionate about accompanying marginalized communities—particularly LGBTQ+ persons—and about the ongoing work of racial reconciliation and addressing the systemic legacy of slavery. He is a graduate of Virginia Theological Seminary, where he earned his Master of Divinity with a concentration in New Mission Practices, and holds degrees in History and Religious Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
