My passage from Genesis 3:1-22 features the serpent beguiling Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden to eat from the Tree of Life’s forbidden fruit (aka, the apple).Having read—and heard—this tale many times, I kept revisiting the phrase “…and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”  With Advent upon us, I wonder whether we sometimes can easily distinguish between good and evil.  Recent terrorist attacks in Paris, Mali, and Egypt give me pause.
