A special four-legged guest will take part in the Palm Sunday Family Eucharist on March 29, portraying the donkey that carried Jesus into Jerusalem as the children reenact the first Palm Sunday procession. All children are welcome, regardless of church membership.
The Family Eucharist is a lively service for small children, celebrated at 9:15 AM on the second Sunday of each month, as well as some special Sundays such as Palm Sunday and Easter. The music, readings and homily are all child-friendly, and the children learn about one of the central rituals of the church through an instructed Eucharist.
Musical accompaniment is by the Joyful Noise band, featuring Father Poppe on guitar and Deacon Ken on Soprano Sax. The songs are simple and easy for children to learn.
The service is followed by refreshments, and sometimes a seasonal craft project.
Note: There is no Children's Chapel or Sunday School on Sundays when a Family Eucharist is held.
