North Porch Offering: A Fifth-Sunday Tradition

Sunday, March 31, 2019 - 10:30am

In March, the Outreach Committee is coordinating a Fifth Sunday collection for North Porch, an organization that provides emergency baby supplies to needy families in North Jersey with children under age three.

The greatest need right now is for large size diapers (sizes 4, 5 & 6), and for Enfamil formula (yellow).  A new satellite center was recently opened in Jersey City to reach people in need in Hudson County.  North Porch reports that the need is particularly acute among immigrant families, who are afraid to access government aid.

Help us gather supplies by picking up a package of large size diapers or a can of formula the next time you shop.  Donations can be left in the food barrel or basket marked “North Porch” at the church entrances throughout the month.

We also accept checks, clearly made out to North Porch (not St. George’s), or cash in an envelope marked “North Porch”.    We will offer our collection for blessing at the altar on Sunday, March 31st.  For more information, contact Lindsay McHugh at
