On the weekend of March 9th and 10th St. George's is honored to host Rev. Laura Truax Sumner, author of Love Let Go which was an inspiration to the parish this past fall. This is the true story of LaSalle Street Church in Chicago that received an unexpected windfall of 1.6 million dollars. After much discernment, the leadership decided to tithe back to the congregation with 10%; 160,000 or $500 per parishioner with the direction to ‘do good’ with the money. “It is the story of real people experiencing real freedom. And repeatedly that freedom began with small hesitant steps of generosity that became a way of life.” From the website loveletgobook.com
