January 16, 2018 - Vestry Meeting Highlights

Father Poppe opened the meeting with a reflection on the following Sunday’s gospel passage.  Mike Martins presented the Finance Report by noting that the originally projected 2017 deficit of $11,000 is projected to be a $20,000 surplus.  While some of the expenses were slightly higher than budgeted, this was offset by higher revenue from pledge, plate, rent and Merry Marketplace. Reports were heard from the Youth, Education and Parish Life vestry liaisons.  Father Poppe reported that 93 pledging units totaling $323,073 have been received – 9 were new pledges and 6 were lost due to death or relocation.  The vestry planned the Annual Meeting scheduled for March 4th and approved a slate of candidates for warden, vestry and 2019 Diocesan Convention.  Tom McCauley noted that a fire sprinkler valve burst due to the recent cold weather in the Resource Center basement but quick containment limited the damages.  A claim has been submitted to the insurance company to cover the costs for valve repair and the resulting flooding damage.  Meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
