December 19, 2017 Vestry Meeting Highlights

Father Poppe opened the meeting with a meditation on a passage from the Barbara Crafton book, “Finding Time for Serenity”.  Reports were heard from the Worship and Music, Education and Stewardship vestry liaisons.  It was noted that approximately $306,000 has been pledged to date, which is below expectations; additional outreach will be made to outstanding pledgers.  Tony Bousanti presented the Finance Report by noting that the originally projected 2017 deficit of $11,000 is projected to be a $4,000 surplus.  The vestry approved the 2018 budget based on a conservative approach with a modest increase to staff salaries, diocesan pledge and outreach as approved at the last vestry meeting. The vestry expressed their gratitude to the Finance Committee on their diligence in preparing the 2018 budget.  Father Poppe noted that the painting of the rectory exterior was almost complete.  The following calendar events were highlighted:

  • Father Poppe will host a Twelfth Night Open House at the rectory on January 6, 2018 (4-8pm).
  • Parish Council meeting will be scheduled for January 23, 2018 at 7:30pm.
  • The Annual Meeting will be scheduled for March 4, 2018.

Meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
