Love Let Go: Radical Generosity for the Real World

This stewardship season, the stewardship committee invites you to join them in reading Love Let Go: Radical Generosity for the Real World, by Laura Sumner Traux and Amalya Campbell. We will be using this book as a tool to help us discern the relationship between our gifts, gratitude and giving as part of the Fall pledge campaign.

This is the true story of LaSalle Street Church in Chicago that received an unexpected windfall of $160,000. After a period of careful discernment, its leaders made the wild, counterintuitive decision to give it away. Each church member received a check for $500 with the instruction to “go out and do good in God's world.” “It is the story of real people experiencing real freedom. And repeatedly that freedom began with small hesitant steps of generosity that became a way of life.”  From the website loveletgobook.com

We are looking forward to sharing this book with you and hearing your thoughts. We have arranged for three opportunities to come together talk about the book. These meetings will take place on Sunday, October 21, November 4, and December 9 following the 10:30 service. You are welcome to join in for all or part of these discussions. If none of those dates are convenient for you, we still encourage you to read along with us.

For your convenience, you may order a hard copy or copies of the book for $16 by contacting Cheryl Notari via phone 908-447-0623 or by email chnotari@verizon.net.  Please order no later than October 1st. You may also purchase this book directly from Amazon.
