March Vestry Meeting Report

The meeting on March 19, 2019, opened with prayers.  Mike Martins presented the February Finance Report, noting that revenue continued to exceed budget (especially from the pre-payment of pledges); and expenses were closely in line with the budget.

Tom Edwards was re-elected as Treasurer and Dan Mitchell was re-elected as Clerk, each for a one-year term.

The Profile Committee noted that the Profile has been approved by the diocese and was posted on the website to receive names. Marymae Henley noted that the Search Committee was actively engaged in the process.

Plans for the upcoming vestry retreat on April 5 to 7 were reviewed.  Rev. Gary Commins noted that a confirmation class field trip is scheduled to the NY Service and Justice Collaborative and confirmation is scheduled at the cathedral on May 18.  Child care for the 10:30 service has been arranged.

Tony Bousanti noted that the sump pump in the rectory basement failed and consequently, the basement flooded and cleanup is underway.  The vestry accepted Wilbur Painting’s cost proposal to complete the parish hall painting.

The vestry unanimously supported an initiative to develop more outward representations of inclusivity and support of the LGBTQ community, such as installing gender-neutral signage for single occupancy toilet facilities and displaying gay and transgender pride flags.

The vestry liaisons were reassigned as follows:
